Another Round of Tests & Doctors
After a long day of shuttling between four departments in the hospital, the results are:
- all blood tests continue to be excellent
- MRI shows no changes
- weight loss due to poor appetite will be monitored
Since this kind of tumor usually has leftover tumor cells, the standard treatment is to take 5 days of higher dose chemo in pill form. That will begin this coming week.
Then, the experimental phase of an immunity booster (interferon), "Poly ICLC", will follow for 7 weeks. Mark will learn to give himself these injections every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Subsequent blood tests and MRIs will be repeated before each continuing cycle of chemo/Poly ICLC thereafter. We are very impressed with the specialists on the Tumor Team at HUP.
We cannot thank you enough for your prayers, e-mails, cards, phone calls, visits and other demonstrations of love and support. May God bless you in a special way!

Thank you very much for the nice card that you and Nancy sent to Ruth. We appreciate your prayers. We also received the Thai Newsletter and you should know that Ruth is one of Kris’s biggest fans. We also received the September 15th update of your cancer treatment plan. It would have appeared that you and Nan have every reason to be optimistic at this point. Every Ruth’s physical condition is improving markedly. The doctors say as the kidney infection is rested so will her orientation to time and place will improve. Thus, we believe that she will be recovered and discharged within the next week. She will be transferred to the Wagner Center at Messiah Village for a short while where she will receive therapy to rebuild her physical strength.
Love and prayers

Hi there Mark and Nancy. I`m in Spain and have just been missing you with Marshall and Eleanor, Bruce and Merly and Kara Niesley. We`ll be praying for you all here. Bruce says to ask if you have a Skype number to call you?
Love in Christ,
Trevor
